Mercury Bergren: Artistic Director, acrobat.
Mercury (they/them) came from a background of theatre, writing, and community organizing. They moved to Seattle (occupied Duwamish land) from Juneau AK (Lingít Aaní) where they got their start in circus, touring theatre work, and community work, a cultivation of interests they began around age 20. They’ve been lucky to be able to contribute to social circus work coaching youth with disabilities here in Seattle at SANCA as well as abroad in Japan for the Slow Circus Project. They’ve performed for Acrobatic Conundrum, SANCA/Emerald City Trapeze, Sh’Bang Festival, and many others.
Their writing and movement work is imbued with hope, practices of care, devotion to a better future, and a deep relief/surrender to the knowledge that change is inevitable.
